Company Overview
Cardinal Stritch University educates men and women of all faiths and ages, at the graduate and undergraduate level, in four colleges: Arts and Sciences, Business, Education, and the Ruth S. Coleman College of Nursing. In addition to our 90 full-time faculty, we also employ several hundred adjunct faculty, who remain practitioners in their fields and provide highly skilled instruction to our students. The quality of our faculty is important to preserving the standard of education we provide. To ensure that quality, we try to maintain an environment in which each employee is treated as an important contributor, who can continue to learn and grow. Adjunct faculty who teach seven or more credit hours per semester in traditional programs are eligible to receive a 50% tuition reduction, along with their dependents, spouses or domestic partners. Those who teach in non-traditional programs, which enroll students in evening programs year-round, are eligible for the same reductions.

With a main campus in suburban Milwaukee and several satellite offices around the state, Stritch is Wisconsin's second-largest independent university. Adjunct faculty are needed at the main campus and in many of the Wisconsin communities Stritch serves The University also has a Minnesota Region, based in Edina, Minn.

Stritch is a Franciscan Catholic university, founded in 1937 by the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi. The University values caring, compassion, reverence for all creation and peacemaking. A Franciscan education is inclusive, stressing both knowledge and experience, and it empowers students to be responsible citizens and to give back to others to benefit the greater good.

We are also pioneers. We were the first in the state to offer accelerated, evening degree programs in business for adults. We were the first institution in southeastern Wisconsin to introduce the master of arts in reading and special education, and we maintain a strong commitment to urban education. Stritch is the only school in Wisconsin offering the full range of nursing programs, from the ADN through a Master’s degree with a focus on nursing education. Our College of Arts and Sciences offers more than 30 fields of study in 13 different departments and both undergraduate and graduate degrees.

Stritch’s total enrollment across both states is about 7,600, but individual classes remain small, with personal attention stressed. The average faculty to student ratio is 17 to one.

We are committed to serving those who might not otherwise attend college. More than 50% of Stritch students are the first in their families to attend college and more than 21% of our undergraduates are ethnic minorities.
