The Terracon office in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, has an opening for a Geotechnical Project Engineer. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established and strong technical team, build and maintain client relationships, and continue growing our consulting engineering practice. Based just 10 minutes from downtown Milwaukee, our strong team of professionals has been serving area clients for more than 20 years on some of the biggest and most challenging projects in our market.

The Geotechnical Project Engineer provides engineering and consulting services for a broad array of impactful projects, from stadiums and roadways to bridges, buildings, and solar installations. On a daily basis, the successful applicant will use their geotechnical engineering skills, interface with clients, and provide functional management to ensure projects remain compliant, safe, on budget, and on track.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning.
  • Maintain quality standards on all projects.
  • Career level, fully competent engineering professional with responsibility for managing detailed phases of projects with moderate size and complexity.
  • Independently perform a variety projects or selected segments of larger projects.
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, and/or coordinate detailed phases of assigned project work.
  • Work closely with senior-level engineers to gain additional project management experience for more complex and larger projects.
  • Prepare proposals and reports for small and large projects of varying complexity.
  • Perform quality control review of proposals written by others.
  • Evaluate laboratory and field data for inclusion in reports.
  • Interact directly with client and project team on developing scope of services, communicating project progress and findings and recommendations.
  • Write and prepare routine and complex geotechnical engineering reports detailing services provided, findings, and recommendations.
  • If desired, participate in marketing, sales and business development.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
Pay Range:
The expected salary range for this position is listed below. The base range may be adjusted based on the specific location of the applicant. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual qualifications and experience. $78K to $122K per year.
