Position Description

This job requires a highly self-sufficient and independent person. This position is responsible for assisting in the product launch success with key customers for our battery thermal management, electronic cooling packages, smart electronics, transit and specialty vehicle markets. The Process Specialist Position will work with and assist Program Managers and Project Leaders. This position is in a group responsible for supporting Modine's application engineering teams and plant APQP leads with Customer and Modine program launches. This position will take the lead from the Program Manager assigned to specific key program launches at Modine. This position will collaborate with the Program Manager and other team members including engineering, quality and purchasing within Modine. The Process Specialist will perform administrative duties including maintaining program documents within Modine's APQP Program Management Process and updates to key databases used to track and record program progress. The position will also require communication and follow up with customers and other supporting staff at Modine to keep the programs on track to meet timing and approved financial metrics. The Process Specialist may be asked to help lead smaller engineering projects and work directly with those engineering teams

Key Responsibilities
  • The Process Specialist position will be responsible for improving and creating processes that assist the communication and completion of key task required during the program launch process.
  • The Process Specialist will also create and manage work instructions based on efficient workflow to reduce the risks of program launch activities.
  • This position will perform administrative tasks associated with coordination with our sales and engineering groups to insure on time estimate completion, on time quotes and timely invoicing of service performed.
  • The Process Specialist will be asked to assist in a variety or record keeping updates with our program management plans.
  • This position will also assist in supporting troubleshooting activities needed to keep programs on time.
Required Education & Qualifications
  • Minimum of an undergraduate college degree, in business administration or related experience.
  • 3-5 years' experience interfacing with customers.
  • Working knowledge of quality systems (QS-9000, VDA, or TS 16949 standards) and program launch disciplines preferred
  • Requires good communication and interpersonal skills, problem solving, decision making and quality planning.
  • Must be skilled in the use of program management software, such as Microsoft Project or similar and Excel. SAP knowledge is also helpful.
